It’s nice to meet you!

Hi! My name is Betsi Eki. I am so excited to be studying to be a music teacher. . . again ! I was last at PSU in 2000, when I was studying to be a high school choir teacher. I also was pursuing a double Minor, in History and Theater. At the time that I left PSU, I was pregnant with my first child, and I needed to pause my studies to be a single mom.

After marrying and raising two more children, and pursuing other careers (including private lessons in piano, voice, and musical theater lessons) I realized my heart felt the call to finish my education! My middle son Kellen encouraged me to pursue what it would take to continue my degree, however it might look. So now. . . my son and I are both attending PSU at the same time, I’m finishing my BA in Music, and he is pursuing a BA in Film. The last 25 years I have raised my 3 kids, and for the last 8 have been working as a Real Estate Broker in OR & WA.

I am looking forward to being back in school, surrounding myself with musicians. I’ve really missed singing. and studying. It's going to be a great year!
